Brandon Bertelsen

CO-OWNER AND GUIDE

Brandon grew up in the town of Selah, Washington. Selah is known for its apples, vineyards and sunshine. Thanks to his family and Boy Scouts, his love for rivers, mountains and outdoor adventure began early.

He attended the University of Utah and graduated with an Honors Bachelor of Science in Parks, Recreation, and Tourism. He led many river trips through the university outdoor program on the Green River, the Colorado River and other rivers in the West. Post-college, he reenacted John Welsey Powell's pioneering 1869 river trip down the Green and Colorado River and then began working for NOLS as a backpacking and river instructor on 3-4 week backcountry expeditions. This eventually led him to the Methow Valley and guiding on the Methow River.

In the winter Brandon is an AIARE avalanche instructor. When he isn't working, he can be found skiing and dreaming of the warm spring day when the snowmelt turns powder skiing into whitewater rafting. He believes outdoor recreation, especially rafting where teamwork is crucial, enhances quality of life, and brings us closer together.
