The Gold Creek Full-Day is a full day of whitewater with lots of exciting Class II/III rapids including DOT, Gold Creek Rapid and Taco Time! This all day trip begins near Carlton, Washington, 20 miles South of Winthrop and includes a riverside lunch. Looking for the perfect mix of adrenaline, scenery, and camaraderie all contained in a magnificent setting? Then this is the trip for you!
What To Expect:
At Methow Rafting, we've got everything covered for a great day on the river, from gear, to instruction and shuttle from the river at the end of the trip. We take care of all the details!
Our staff will meet you at the take out (see map). After checking in with our staff and signing waivers, we'll outfit you with a wetsuit and then we'll shuttle upriver to the put-in. You'll leave your vehicle at the take out. Please be aware that there are minimal facilities for this trip so you may want to arrive in your swim-suit and make a bathroom stop in Methow or Carlton depending on which direction you'll be arriving from. When we arrive at the put-in our guides will help you prepare for the trip, taking time to help outfit you with all of the gear you’ll need. Included in the cost of all of our trips is a Personal Flotation Device (PFD), helmet, paddle, wetsuit, paddle jacket if needed, and booties for your feet.
Your guides will give an orientation to paddling technique and river safety. Expect to spend about three hours paddling the river with a relaxing lunch stop at a beach along the way. We provide a big lunch platter including chips, dips, crackers, cheeses, meats, fruits, veggies, cookies and more. We'll end our day back at your vehicle so you'll want to leave your towel and dry clothes there.
What You Should Bring:
Please bring a reusable water bottle. Please bring any medications that may be necessary during the trip, ie. asthma inhalers or epi-pen for severe allergic reactions; we’ll store them safely on the raft. Please notify your guide- we need to know if you have any medical conditions. Depending on the weather you may want to bring a warm layer, we recommend a fleece (no cotton please). If you must bring a camera we recommend only waterproof cameras. Please leave all other personal items in your vehicle or at home.
