The Gold-Creek Full-Day rafting trip is a fun introduction to whitewater rafting. This section has many class II rapids and a few class III rapids that are perfect for groups with kids ages 6-10 and looking for to bridge the gap between serene and exciting. The trip takes place in the gorgeous ponderosa pine and shrub-steppe landscape of the lower Methow Valley. It begins close to the town of Carlton and ends near the town of Methow. This trip is great because of the combination of lower valley, Cascadian foothill scenery and whitewater that is in between that of the Winthrop Scenic and Black Canyon. You will spend four to five hours rafting including a lunch stop on a riverside beach.

You will meet at the Methow Rafting Boathouse in the town of Methow. After getting geared up (all river gear is included), you will be driven to the put-in which is a ten minute drive away. Your guide will then review river safety and paddling techniques. After that, the adventure begins! A few of the biggest rapids on the Gold Creek section are Gold Creek, DOT, Rodeo, Guide-Ejector, Taco Time, and K2. At the end, you will be picked up and driven back to your car at the boathouse, only a couple minutes away.

Meeting time and location: 9:30 am at the Methow Rafting Boathouse in the town of Methow (not the Methow Rafting Office in Winthrop)
