Looking for the perfect mix of adrenaline, scenery, and camaraderie all contained in a magnificent setting? Then this is the trip for you!
What To Expect
At Methow River Raft + Kayak, we've got everything covered for a great day on the river, from gear, to instruction and shuttle from the river at the end of the trip. We take care of all the details!
For the Gold Creek trip our staff will meet you at the take out spot (map). You'll leave your vehicle there and we'll shuttle you up to the boats at the put-in. Please be aware that there are minimal facilities for this trip so you may want to arrive in your swim-suit and make a bathroom stop in Methow or Carlton depending on which direction you'll be arriving from. After checking in with our staff and signing waivers, we'll outfit you with a wetsuit and then we'll shuttle upriver to the put-in. When we arrive at the put-in our guides will help you prepare for the trip, taking time to help outfit you with all of the gear you’ll need. Included in the cost of all of our trips is a Personal Flotation Device (PFD), helmet, paddle, wetsuit, paddle jacket if needed, and booties for your feet- everything you’ll need!
As soon as everybody's geared up, your guides will give an orientation that covers paddling technique and river safety. Expect to spend about three hours paddling the river with a relaxing lunch stop at a beach along the way. We provide a big lunch with sandwiches from our local bakery to fuel your day. We'll end our day back at your vehicle so you'll want to leave your towel and dry clothes there.
What You Should Bring
Please bring any medications that may be necessary during the trip, ie. asthma inhalers or epi-pen for severe allergic reactions. Please notify your guide- we need to know if you have any medical conditions, AND we'll stow it in the dry bag on board the raft. If you'd like to bring a jacket or an extra layer there's usually space in the dry bag but we recommend leaving all other personal items at home. If you must bring a camera we recommend only waterproof cameras.
